About Our Troop
Boyscout Troop 114 provides a program for youth in Tallahassee that offers effective character, citizenship, and personal fitmess training. The Troop leadership encourages participating youth to embrace the ideals of Scouting as defined in the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Motto, and Slogan.
The mission of the troop is to develop youth so they are physically, mentally, and emotionally fit; have a high degree of self-reliance as evidenced in such qualities as initiative, courage, and resourcefullness; have personal values based on religious concepts; have the desire and skills to help others; understand the principles of the American social, economic, and governmental systems; are knowledgeable about and take pride in their American heritage and understand our nation's role in the world; have a keen respect for the basic rights of all people; and are prepared to participate in and give leadership to American society.
Our values:
- We pledge to provide leadership to our youth that is fair, responsive and ethical.
- We respect the diginity and recognize the contribution of each youth and adult leader.
- We beleive that each participaing youth and leader is an integral part of the troop.
- We pledge to encourage and assist each Scout and leader in developing to their full potential.
- We recognize the right to be different and differ but shall not allow it to be divisive.
- We recognize that we have an obligation to be accountable and efficient in our use of resources.
- We recognize that safety is of the utmost concern and will adhere to safe practices at all times.
